Five levels. Demonstrated capability.

Level 1 · Product Specialist

MP5 available

Explain the product, choose a suitable installation and recognize when to escalate.

Skills and qualification requirements
  • Measurement principles and product limits
  • Mounting selection and photo inspection
  • D20 navigation and error-code recognition

Prerequisite: No prior certification

Evidence required: Product knowledge assessment: 80% minimum. MP5 assessment available now.

Level 2 · Certified Operator

Practical assessment in development

Operate an installed system and verify that its readings are dependable.

Skills and qualification requirements
  • Read the D20 and configure measurement options
  • Use representative reference samples and model-specific calibration procedures
  • Recognize air, flow and routine maintenance issues

Prerequisite: Current Level 1 in the same product

Evidence required: Level 2 knowledge assessment plus an observed operating and calibration demonstration.

Level 3 · Service Technician

Practical assessment in development

Diagnose faults, perform approved service and document a return to operation.

Skills and qualification requirements
  • Fault isolation using readings, logs and reference tests
  • Model-specific cleaning and wear-part replacement
  • Post-service checks, maintenance records and escalation

Prerequisite: Current Level 2 in the same product

Evidence required: Scenario assessment plus observed diagnosis, service and verification. Halogen assessor sign-off required.

Level 4 · Commissioning Specialist

Field assessment in development

Commission the certified product and controller as a complete working system.

Skills and qualification requirements
  • Review installation, isolation, pressure limits, wiring and sample conditions
  • Verify stabilization and calibration; test configured outputs, alarms and communications
  • Record acceptance readings, configuration and customer handover

Prerequisite: Current Level 3 in the product and verified D20 competence

Evidence required: Observed commissioning with a completed acceptance checklist and Halogen assessor sign-off. Product and D20 competence must both be verified.

Level 5 · Commissioning & Training Specialist

Trainer assessment in development

Commission systems and train other individuals within the products listed on the credential.

Skills and qualification requirements
  • Independently demonstrate commissioning and troubleshoot a realistic scenario
  • Deliver an observed operator-training session with a practical teach-back
  • Assess learner performance, correct unsafe or incorrect methods and document training

Prerequisite: Current Level 4 for every product taught

Evidence required: Current commissioning qualification, observed training delivery, evaluated learner teach-back and final Halogen approval. Training authority is product-specific.

INSTALLATION TRAINING

Install it correctly. Know what to check.

Open the full study modules: correct and incorrect installations, wet-tap drawings, field photos, error codes and D20 practice →

Use these setup checkpoints alongside the current installation manual for your exact assembly. Follow the manual for orientation, fittings, pressure limits and safe installation procedures.

Wet-tap

  1. Choose the rated wet-tap assembly and remover for a live main.
  2. Follow the wet-tap manual for valve, insertion and removal sequence.
  3. Keep the sensing cell flooded and provide access for service.

PVC tee / PVCT

  1. Use a direct inline tee where isolation and shutdown are available.
  2. Check the pressure ratings of the complete assembly.
  3. Plan safe isolation before sensor removal; keep the measuring cell full.

Wall-mount MKIT

  1. Mount the side-stream flow cell securely with service access.
  2. Keep flow-cell pressure at or below 60 PSI; check supply and return conditions.
  3. Fill and vent the cell; verify the sample and return paths.

Submersible / immersion

  1. Use the immersion mounting arrangement for an open tank or basin.
  2. Position the sensing cell below the lowest operating water level.
  3. Release trapped air and verify internal impeller circulation.

Before accepting the reading

Confirm the cell is flooded, air can escape and the impeller circulates water. After reimmersion, allow stabilization and at least 20 minutes in process water before calibration. Investigate Error 31 before accepting a reading.
