Find your Halogen sensor by its current or former name.
Older links, manuals and customer studies remain useful. Start with the name on your sensor or document, then confirm the generation and configuration.
| Name on your document | Where to go | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| H2 / MP-Free / MP-5F / MP5F | Current MP-5F chlorine sensor | H2 and MP-Free are earlier website labels for the MP-5F. MP5F is also used without the hyphen. |
| MP5 / MP5A / MP5-A | MP-5F Free Chlorine guide (covers MP5 / MP5-A) | Look for D20 + MP-5F Free Chlorine. Earlier editions remain available in the manuals library. Confirm model and firmware before using a guide. |
| H1 / H2 on a part number or service kit | Manuals and service information | Generation and assembly codes still matter. Do not change an ordering code solely to match a marketing name. |
| MP Total / MP-TOTAL / MP5 Total | MP-TOTAL total chlorine and monochloramine | Confirm species and configuration; this is distinct from MP-5T. |
| Accuracy by generation | MP5 ±15% → MP5-A ±5% → MP-5F ±5% | The MP-5F keeps ±5% and has no monochloramine interference for free chlorine. |
Current name, original evidence.
Customer evaluations describe the model actually tested. Earlier MP5 results are not presented as new MP-5F trials. Published part numbers and historical document filenames remain unchanged.
What was the MP-5F formerly known as?
MP5 was the original Halogen free-chlorine sensor. The MP5-A improved accuracy from 15% to 5%. The MP-5F is the current product: it keeps 5% accuracy and has no monochloramine interference for free chlorine. It has also appeared on this website as H2 and MP-Free. Earlier MP5 and MP5A installations have their own documentation and field history; a newer generation does not establish that parts or specifications are interchangeable.
Where can I find MP5 or MP5A manuals?
The manuals library lists the updated D20 + MP-5F Free Chlorine guide, revision R1.18, alongside earlier MP5A manuals. Match the model, serial number and firmware to the document edition before service.
Is the MP-5F the same as the MP5?
Yes. The MP-5F is the current generation of the Halogen MP5 free-chlorine sensor. The original MP5 was specified at ±15% accuracy; the MP5-A improved that to ±5%; the MP-5F keeps ±5% and has no monochloramine interference for free chlorine. Manuals and field results for installed MP5 and MP5-A sensors still describe those sensors.
Is MP-5T another name for MP-TOTAL?
No. MP5T (MP-5T) was a separate, lower-priced total-chlorine version of the MP5 sensor and no longer has its own page. For current total chlorine and monochloramine measurement, use the MP-TOTAL page.
