MP5™ Wet-tap In-pipe Online Chlorine Analyzer

Overview

The Halogen MP5™ Wet-tap solution (D-H1WT-P) is a retractable deployment that allows the sensor to be inserted directly in water pipes, providing online near-time monitoring. Unaffected by changes in flow or pressure, the MP5™ is the only chlorine analyzer that can be deployed in this way.

The MP5™ is the only chlorine analyzer that is approved for NSF-61 use in drinking water pipes with no required waste stream and this deployment option takes full advantage of that approval. The included SensiCLĒNE™ technology helps stabilize calibrations and lowers maintenance requirements.

Unique Features

  • 5 Parameters in a single online near-time analyzer
    • Free Chlorine
    • pH
    • Temperature
    • Conductivity
    • Rapid Response ORP™*
  • Self-cleaning & low-maintenance
  • No membranes or electrolyte
  • NSF-61: No waste stream required
  • Factory-calibrated, drift resistant
  • Unaffected by flow or pressure. Even empty pipes won’t ruin calibration.
  • Available display is equipped with (4) 20mA and MODBUS RTU. Other communication protocols are available upon request.
  • 24 VDC or 90 to 240 VAC operation

Why Use the MP5™in a Wet-Tap Deployment?

Flow Independent Measurement

The sensor generates its own flow. Even low-flow and end-of-line pipes can still be monitored for water aging, nitrification etc. The integrated pump creates a fixed velocity across the electrodes, which improves sensitivity while lowering the Signal-to-Noise Ratio.

No Waste Stream

Approved for NSF-61 installs, the MP5™ can be installed directly in a drinking water pipe using an operator-supplied commercial OTS saddle with a 2″ valve.

Once installed, operators gain accurate reporting of the water inside the pipe without having meters of sample tubing between the source and the analyzer, enabling faster, better decisions based on near-time data.

Because there’s no waste stream, there’s no non-revenue water wasted for testing, making the MP5 Wet-tap Analyzer a great option for end-of-line and grid hot-spot monitoring

SensiCLĒNE™ Patented Self-Cleaning Technology

A patented electrochemical cleaning method called SensiCLĒNE™  resists polarization and adsorption of organics.  Motivated by the flow from the pump, captive polymer cleaning beads continuously abrade the sensor. This keeps the electrode surfaces, including the pH sensor, free from buildup, scaling, and biofouling. Solid metal electrodes last the life of the system.

Easy to Monitor

A local display provides onsite viewing of parameters for up to 5 separate MP5™ units and a cellular telemetry option can cache and report at programmed intervals for off-grid monitoring.

Ease of Service

The annual wear-parts maintenance takes only minutes and does not affect calibration. Halogen’s removal tool (and available dual-drive adapter) makes installation quick and easy.

MP5™ Models and Deployment Types

MP5™ H1 Wet Tap (H1WT)

Halogen MP5™ HotTap/WetTap Sensors

The Wet Tap (or Hot Tap) housing can be deployed as a retractable direct pipe insertion for NSF-61 usage. No-leak retractor options are available.

MP5™ H1 Mid Flange (H1MF-p)

Halogen MP5™ Sensors with PVC-tee Housing

The mid-flange housing (H1MF-P) and the associated 2″ adapter sleeve and collar kit make for an easy sidestream NSF-61 PVC Tee deployment.

H1 Low FLANGE (H1LF-P)

Halogen MP5™ Sensors with two types of flow-cell housings.

The low-flange model (H1LF-P) can be used to replace existing control-board-mounted setups or used as an NSF-61 submerged in-tank analyzer.

MP5™ SOLUTIONS AND KITS

Kit with flow-cell deployment (MKIT) and display controller along with a wall mounting plate,  provides a drop-in upfit sensor replacement.
