MP5™ Online Analyzer for
End-of-Line Monitoring

Reduce Non-Revenue Water Waste with an MP5™

Halogen’s MP5™ chlorine analyzer is a good foundation for water aging flushing strategies.

Whether a public water system (PWS) uses flushing as part of a regular maintenance schedule or in response to low disinfectant residual, water flushing is an important tool in maintaining a healthy water grid. However, as water waste becomes a more pressing issue, PWS operators must be judicious in the use of the technique.

Many water systems operators are interested in automating the process and there are on-market solutions that can flush at predetermined times and for predetermined amounts of time. Even better are solutions that are based on water-aging parameters, like residual free chlorine, pH, and ORP. The Halogen MP5™ chlorine sensor measures those parameters along with temperature and conductivity in a single online, near-time unit.

The MP5™ is approved for NSF-61 use in drinking water pipes with no required waste drain and is well-regarded for stable calibration and low maintenance. These and other qualities make the MP5™ uniquely suited for dead-end monitoring and flushing solutions.

Solve end-of-Line Problems with the MP5™ Online Chlorine Sensor

5 Parameters in One Unit

The NSF-61 certified, Halogen MP5™ measures 5 testing parameters in near-time using one online unit without losing a drop of treated water. Operators can assess free chlorine, pH, temperature, conductivity, and oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) in near-time in the pipe with no waste stream required.

Flexible deployment options

The MP5™ makes things simple. There are no reagents or membranes to stock, manage, or replace. Our NSF-61  certification means no flow-control plumbing and no waste stream to mitigate. The MP5™ is unaffected by flow or pressure, and the only chlorine analyzer that can be inserted as a wet tap in a drinking water pipe

Unaffected by Pressure or Flow

The MP5™ adapts to nearly any flow or pressure. Even a dry pipe won’t ruin the calibration. It can be installed directly in a pipe, located side-stream, suspended in a trough, or simply dropped in a tank. Whatever the deployment type or parameters, the MP5™ is unique in accuracy, reliability, and stability.

Bare Electrode Sensor

Halogen’s amperometric sensors have many advantages over DPD-style membrane and reagent technology.  Halogen’s implementation of bare 3-electrode amperometric technology provides pH-stabilized precise measurements of Free Chlorine without introducing additional complexity to your workflow.

Self Cleaning

The old amperometric technology used by competitor sensors still requires a membrane and electrolyte to guard against sensor fouling. Such membranes are sensitive to flow and pressure spikes. Halogen’s patented SensiCLĒNE™ technology prevents fouling without introducing pressure or flow sensitivity.
